About Me…

Motivated by a passion for understanding human behavior and a deep desire to facilitate healing and personal growth, I chose a specialty that resonates with my values.

Beyond my clinical accomplishments, I carry a unique blend of experiences that shape both my approach to psychiatry and who I am as a person. Spending part of my childhood in Hong Kong, where Eastern and Western cultures interchange, I benefitted from both Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine whenever I was feeling unwell. Traditional Chinese Medicine teachings, which focuses on balance and “nurturing life,” were also (and still are) deeply integrated into my family’s attitude toward health, influencing our diets and habits. I am trained in Western medicine but I also carry with me these philosophies in how I practice psychiatry.

Moving between Hong Kong and US and growing up as a Chinese-American, I also navigated the delicate balance of incorporating my heritage into the culture I was raised in. This personal journey fuels my commitment to understand the complexities of multicultural identity that many of my patients face. My work centers around helping those grappling with multicultural identities, especially Asian-Americans, who face challenges like depression, anxiety, and trauma. I specialize in aiding individuals who seek to understand themselves, their motivations, and the barriers they face.

At the core of my practice is the belief that everyone possesses the innate ability to heal and flourish. I see my role as creating the optimal environment, using medications, nutraceuticals, and psychotherapy, to guide you through your unique self-healing process. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilled and empowered life.
